We are seeking an experienced UX Designer to start work immediately in a large-scale public organisation. The UX Designer's primary focus is to bring customer-centric thinking into the development of our products and services to ensure they meet the needs of our customers. You will ensure these products and services are user-friendly and intuitive, exceeding customer expectations and enabling more users to interact with ease. You will translate business and customer needs into technology design in a SAFe Agile environment. You will collaborate across stakeholder groups to grasp user needs, define the user experience, and explore different approaches to solve user challenges to deliver a successful product.

Successful applicants will be responsible for…

  • You will be responsible for running user research sessions, both remote and in person, documenting and analysing the results
  • Translating business and customer needs into technology design to deliver a successful product
  • Leading, influencing, and building credibility across a range of stakeholders
  • Contributing to innovative design practices to meet business needs
  • Grasping user needs, defining the user experience, and exploring different approaches to solve user challenges
  • Championing the creation of "the BEST" user experience, leveraging your creative design knowledge and experience of design tools to build credibility
  • Utilising your creative design knowledge and experience using a range of service design tools

Applicants must have…

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Be able to combine UX thinking with design execution
  • Produce high quality UX design solutions
  • Have experience delivering UX work in a New Zealand organisation
  • Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities
  • Have experience working in a SAFe Agile environment
  • Have experience working with Figma, Sketch & Invision, Miro
  • Be capable with Confluence, Jira and Slack
