Finance Controller

The primary focus of this position is to support the Project Manager in the effective financial management and administration of the project and project team.
The role involves ensuring appropriate financial records are accurately maintained, financial reporting supports management of company's operations and governance requirements, support of the Project Management Office, and assisting staff with administrative matters.
Previous accounting/financial experience is essential and you should also have skills in business administration, database and systems management, budget preparation, and supporting all business operations and key stakeholders through timely provision of information and analysis.
The company uses SAP as its principal accounting system, and its own tool to support its commercial operations.


This role requires multitasking, adherence to time lines, and commitment to operating in a team environment.


Duties include: Finance and Accounting
* Process all financial transactions including invoicing, routine site based financial adjustments and supplier payments
* Leading the GDC team to assist in completing tasks
* Supporting the timely preparation of monthly financial reports
* Support the Build Project Manager in the preparation of operating and project budgets and monthly targets
* Monitoring of accounts receivable and debt collection as required
* Assisting compilation of financial reports to support adhoc project requirements
* Assisting Build team with adherence to Finance policies and procedures, and internal controls (including use of purchase orders, authorisations)
* Assisting CT/PMO Finance Manager with external audit requirements
Governance
* Supporting the Project Management Office with coordination of reporting, set up of meetings, and compilation of Minutes of Meetings
* Assisting with special projects as required

* Relevant demonstrated experience in finance and administration including bookkeeping, financial analysis and preparation of financial reports
* Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Office suite
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills that support liaison with staff at all levels and key external stakeholders, partners, suppliers, consultants and advisors.
* Excellent organisational skills, flexibility and ability to work well in a team
* Ability to set priorities and consistently meet deadlines
* Sound knowledge of management information systems, IT and network administration
Desirable attributes:
* Degree or Diploma in accounting, business administration, commerce
* CA/CPA member status
* Previous experience in Telecommunications
