My client is in search of a highly skilled and highly motivated DevOps Engineer, who is a specialized Agile practitioner that assists in building and supporting the Agile development environment. You will have a strong development background to help build the environments and assist with system and solution integration.

This role can be based in Victoria or Canberra, with preference in Victoria so you can travel to Ballarat every

Education and Experience:

  • You will be degree qualified and have 5 years of experience in a Development Role
  • At least 2 years experience in Java and OO programming concepts
  • Experience with Eclipse and JUnit
  • At least 1 year experience in DevOps and Automation
  • Experience in helping transform team culture toward DevOps methodologies and processes
  • Microsoft TFS or other software configuration management tools
  • SDLC automation, including Test automation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building Development Infrastructure
    • Create and maintain the continuous delivery pipeline toolchain, including continuous integration, automated builds, automated build verification testing, and automated deployment
    • Create platforms and environments (which may be cloud-based - PaaS) for development, solution demos, and user acceptance testing
  • Solution Integration
    • Participate in PI Planning and the Pre and Post-PI Planning events and in backlog refinement to define integration and test backlog items
    • Determine and help maintain decisions and policies for version management
    • Run solution-level build and integration scripts or manually integrate where automation does not yet exist
    • Attend other teams' stand-ups to support daily activities
  • End-to-End Testing
    • Create tooling to enable automated test scenarios
    • Extend test enablement to data sets that more closely match production
    • Organize test cases designed by individual teams into ordered suites
    • Enable the execution of automated tests for new Features
    • Prioritize time-consuming tests, refactor, and run reduced test suites where applicable
    • Help teams create 'smoke tests', reduced-test suites that they can run quickly and independently for developer builds
    • Enable the automated test of solution performance against NFRs
  • System and Solution Demos
    • Demonstrate the DevOps toolchains and processes.
    • Educate teams on new DevOps tools and processes.
  • Release
    • The DevOps Engineer can support the Agile teams to prepare, package, and deploy a solution as part of DevOps and the Continuous Delivery Pipeline activities.

Mandatory Requirement:

  1. Be an Australian citizen
  2. Been resident in Australia for the past 5 years (i.e., can't have moved to Australia only 4 or 4.5 years ago)
  3. Not spent greater than 12 months cumulative out of Australia during the past 5 years
  4. Satisfy an AU Gov client Pre-Engagement Integrity Check
  5. Be eligible to obtain an AGSVA baseline security clearance or already have AGSVA baseline security clearance
