We are searching for an experienced Data Architect, especially one specialising in designing a full enterprise data architecture. The purpose of this role is to design the enterprise-wide data architecture for the data environment. This requires someone who has done this before. The approved and funded programme of work on data needs a fully designed data architecture, utilising international best practices to deliver a design that exceeds the organisation's current requirements to support future change. The Data Architect will work closely with the IT Team, the organisation analytical teams, the enterprise data warehouse programme, and the Data Management Team.

Key accountabilities include…

  • Understand deeply, the work that the organisation does in order to design the organisation-wide data architecture
  • Work with the business to understand the current state of the data environment
  • Document findings in an agreed format and in alignment with the enterprise IT architecture
  • Work with stakeholders to design the future end to end data architecture that optimises function, performance, implementation and maintenance feasibility, cost, and flexibility to rapidly change
  • Ensure the future state design supports the organisation's strategic plans
  • Ensure the architecture aligns with All-of-Government and international data standards
  • Ensure data availability to measure outcomes of interventions
  • Document the artefacts that describe the future architecture
  • Align the future state design with the future enterprise and application architectures

  • Have the ability to manage a diverse workload and deliver high-quality outputs
