Your new company and role
Our client is a large and diverse organisation. We are looking for a 2 experienced capacity manager in Wellington for a 12months contract role. The key focus is providing complex technical maintenance and support services. This role involves establishing and improving Capacity Management processes in order that managed services and infrastructure are able to deliver the agreed capacity and performance targets. You will act as the central point for all capacity and performance related activities between the operational and project teams.
What you'll do:
- Ensuring that Capacity Management policy, plans, processes and procedures are developed, documented, implemented
- Ensuring performance, availability and capacity planning and review on all aspects of the infrastructure and business systems are conducted on a regular basis.
- Ensuring system or service performance, estimates, and requirements are regularly reviewed and appropriate capacity tuning is performed.
- Establishing performance monitoring profiles to capture capacity metrics and store them for future analysis, trending and forecasting.
- Establishing and conducting regular performance, availability and capacity planning on all aspects of the infrastructure and business systems.
- Developing a consolidated IT capacity plan and forecast, based on both project and operational capacity requirements that will meet the short, medium- and long-term future business requirements.
- Controlling user log-on and registration requirements.
- Monitoring, tuning and performing trend analysis of the System/Network performance.
- Maintaining the Information System Disaster Recovery Manual and coordinating contingency tests.
- Performing capacity planning, tuning and optimization to ensure maximum system uptime and performance to meet established SLAs.
- Imputing to and maintains BCP and DR processes and documentation where applicable.
To be considered for this role you will need to have experience in the following:
- Security policies and procedures.
- Understanding of profile management concepts.
- Basic skills in the MVS/UNIX/Windows operating system or major sub-system.
- Acquiring knowledge of various software and performance monitoring techniques.
- Microsoft operating systems (Server & Desktop).
- Understanding of core Citrix technologies including XenApp,XenDesktop, Provisioning Services and NetScaler.
- Capacity management toolsets
- Producing, auditing, installing, configuring and managing software.
- IT Support, Networking and Systems Administration.
- Proven background within capacity analysis and management.
